The NBA trade deadline is fast-approaching and teams are doing what they can to make some last minute moves. The Philadelphia 76ers are one of those teams, as they’re reportedly in the midst of serious trade talks with the New Orleans Pelicans for big man, Jahlil Okafor, in exchange for, at the very least, a potential first round pick.
USA Today‘s Sam Amick was first to report the story:
Sixers & Pelicans in talks about sending Jahlil Okafor to New Orleans. Philly pushing for NO 1st rounder. Story coming at @USATODAYsports

The move would likely be ideal for both parties involved considering Philly’s excess of big men and New Orleans’ need for an offensive-minded center to pair along with power forward Anthony Davis in the frontcourt. Though the deal is not official just yet, the conversation certainly seems to be heating up as the trade becomes increasingly likely:
The teams have NOT yet signed off on the trade but the latest talks have NOLA shipping Alexis Ajinca and a future first for Jahlil Okafor.

With the emergence of rookie Joel Embiid in Philadelphia, along with Nerlens Noel’s recent uptick in productivity, most around the NBA have predicted Okafor would be moved for a while now. It seems that possibility may soon become a reality.
