Point guard Mike Conley just re-signed with the Memphis Grizzlies to become the highest-paid player in the NBA.
Memphis and Mike Conley have agreed in principle on a five-year, $153 million deal, league sources say. Finer points “nearing conclusion.”

Not only is Conley now the highest-paid player in the NBA, but this contract makes it the most lucrative deal in the history of the league. Conley has never made an All Star Game appearance, yet the Grizzlies clearly believe that he is worth the money, and they proved that by inking this deal.
This news comes only about an hour after forward Chandler Parsons signed with the Grizzlies for a four-year, $94 million contract. Clearly, they are not playing around in Memphis and are doing everything it takes to build another playoff contender heading into next year.
