Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant have been buddies for quite some time and the two almost joined forces when Durant hit free agency. Unfortunately for Anthony, Durant decided to join the Golden State Warriors where he felt he had the best chance of winning a championship.
Durant made his decision and the entire world can finally put the rumors to rest, but Anthony seemed to have some words following the decision. New York was set to meet with him, but he knew it was a long shot. Anthony had some defending words for Durant via Marc Berman of the New York Post:
I don’t think you guys know the backstory. I don’t want to get into all of that as far as not meeting with us or meeting with us. I don’t want to get into all those details. We talked. Me and him talked. We were in constant communication. We were together. And he made his decision. Anybody to judge that is wrong. He made a decision based on what he felt was good for himself at this time of his career and he made that.
Talk about friendship. Anthony is right in the fact that Durant made his own decision and fans should respect that. Durant has the right to do whatever he wants for himself. Do you think Durant had the right to do what he did? Let us know in the comments.
