The rumor mill has been heated with speculations that the Cleveland Cavaliers were attempting to strike a deal with the New York Knicks for All-Star Carmelo Anthony before the trade deadline this month. It’s been said that the Cavaliers are interested but only if Kevin Love ISN’T on the table.
This only means that the Cavs would have to send multiple players and a couple draft picks for only one player, which seems like a horrible idea considering the fact that Cleveland is already short handed.
A possible outcome could be Cleveland giving up Channing Frye and J.R. Smith which could probably do more harm than good considering the fact that both are a massive part of Cavaliers three-point attack.
Smith even took to Twitter to speak out about the rumors. Well, not so much as “speak” as express his feelings using an emoji.

While this is a possible solution in order to obtain Melo, the Cavs would be giving up a lot of key players, which could possibly hurt the Champions more so in the long run. However, the thought of the Big Three becoming the Big Four with the addition of Anthony seems way too attractive to let go just yet.
