There have been talks about the New York Knicks getting closer to trading Carmelo Anthony, as well as, talks about the all star requesting trades. Carmelo Anthony has responded through the media this morning to let everyone know if those rumors were true:
The All-Star forward responded with a resounding “hell no” when asked Monday if he’d consider asking for a trade out of New York, per Ian Begley of ESPN New York
Carmelo Anthony has publicly stated that he has bought into Phil’s philosophy and trusts him to build a winner. He has also said that he has at least five years left of elite play. Many New York Knicks’ fans are concerned over Melo’s knee, but the super star had a comment on it:
“I think the further I get along, the better it will be,” Anthony recently said, per Marc Berman of the New York Post. “Though I’m cleared to play and had no setbacks, I’m still continuing to rehab every day. It was a good test for me to get through the two-a-days.”
The Knicks seemingly have Anthony on lock for the remainder of his contract as they look to build a contender with their new drafted center Porzingis. There has been nothing but praise from Carmelo Anthony on the new rookie and he is looking forward to growing with him throughout the next few years.
Carmelo Anthony will be 32 in may has missed 42 games last year. Will Melo have what it takes to turn this sinking ship around? We sure hope so.
