Kobe Bryant recently told Yahoo! Sports that he wasn’t sure about when he would retire. The 2015-2016 will be Bryant’s last season on contract and whether he retires or not is still very much up in the air. If Kobe did return after the season, he would likely take a smaller role, but he would be welcomed back with open arms. Jim Buss said to the LA Times
“He just has to know, at that age, and that many miles on you, what is your role?”
“We’ll explain the role, and if he still wants to do that and that’s how he wants to go out, that’s fine with me.”
It will be interested to see how Kobe’s future shakes down after next year. His 2016-2017 season and beyond will be greatly determined by the upcoming season and how well he performs. Kobe has only played 41 games over the past 2 seasons, so it will be a mystery to everyone how he will perform.
