This summer has been full of Kevin Durant rumors, but no one truly knows where the young super star is heading. Kevin Durant has been linked to the Miami Heat and the Washington Wizards several times over the summer. This time its Akash Malhotra reporting that both Miami and Washington will be at the top of Durant’s list this year:
Sources close to the situation say if KD does decide to leave he will be considering Washington and Miami the highest. Will listen to teams.

If Kevin Durant joins forces with Wade and Bosh the team will look like a super star loaded team, ready to win the finals. It will be hard for teams in the East to compete with that roster. It almost seems like Miami is a no brainer decision if Durant wants to win a title. On the other hand, if Durant decides that he wants to go back home and play for Washington, he might have to wait a little while before they are contenders. All the speculation is still up in the air, but one thing is for sure, Durant’s free agency will be comparable to Lebron’s in the aspect of media attention.
Kevin Durant has also been linked to the New York Knicks as well, reports Stephen A. Smith:
“I know for a fact that Carmelo Anthony has been and will continue to recruit Kevin Durant until the cows come home,”
“I’m also hearing that Kevin Durant is giving the New York Knicks consideration.”
—Stephen A. Smith, First Take
With Carmelo recruiting Kevin Durant aggressively, it seems as though the East coast is deep in the Durant race. It will be interesting to watch the whole free agency pan out, as Durant’s name will be the biggest on the market.
