Butler is the hottest commodity on the trade market right now. Rumors have attached him to the Boston Celtics, the Orlando Magic, and the Oklahoma City Thunder. But none of the trade talks have advanced past the initial stages.
Butler had an outstanding 2015-16 season and solidified himself as one of the best shooting guards in the league. The Bulls are in a state of transition after a disappointing season that ended without a playoff berth. Yesterday, they traded former MVP point guard Derrick Rose to the Knicks, which on the surface could appear as a commitment to Butler, who was significantly better without Rose on the floor last season. But, in reality, it could mark the beginning of a rebuild in Chicago.
