Now that Kevin Durant has left the Oklahoma City Thunder, many stories are surfacing of how Durant winded up leaving the Thunder in the first place. Jeff Van Gundy joined Adrian Wojnarowski on The Vertical pod cast and the two talked about how Durant had an ever long relationship with Draymond Green throughout the whole season.
Westbrook grew suspicious of this relationship as they were texting each other and they were clearly enemies with Golden State. With that in mind here is the exact quote from the podcast:
“I know Russell (Westbrook) was bothered by — and some other teammates were too — of, like, there was some knowledge there that Draymond (Green) was in contact with Kevin (Durant) all season long and they’re in a playoff series and I know there was some conversation around the Thunder team of ‘Hey man, this guy kicked Steven Adams in the nuts twice in this series and what are you doing hanging out with this guy? What’s the relationship? We’re trying to beat these guys.’”

Westbrook is known to be tough on his teammates and this could have only angered him. Imagine playing against your rival team, but one of your teammates is texting the opposing team being friendly with him. Westbrook is not the type to show any weakness on the battlefield so this could have totally frustrated the super star.
With Durant leaving for the rival team, we can only imagine what Westbrook’s comment on the situation is. He has not said a word about Durant yet, but everyone is awaiting his comment on the situation.
